From May 1-22, Brastop will be collecting pictures from all contestants. You must submit 3 pictures of yourself in lingerie or swimwear, and 2 headshots. Then, beginning June 1, Brastop will hand-select the 30 semi-finalists and let the public vote! The 10 finalists from the public vote will be invited to London to participate in a professional photoshoot. All the professional pictures from this photoshoot will be posted for the public to vote once more, and on July 27, the winner of the 2009 Star in a Bra Competition will be named!

Glow in the dark undies!?!?

LuminoGlow is a line of glow-in-the-dark lingerie from Australia, made from European stretch lace that is illuminated when the lights go down. Some styles are also accented with stretch silk satin.

If you get the chance to try out LuminoGlow, be sure to leave a comment and tell us what you think! I’m curious to know how bright these pieces are, how long the glow lasts, etc. It’s certainly a product that most people don’t have in their lingerie chest!

13 Kinds of "Relations" Every Couple Should Have

Every couple needs to change up their "relation" routine every now and again so it doesn't become just that -- a routine. Sexual experimentation is key for keeping a long-term relationship fresh, fun and fulfilling. Opening up about your desires can also bring you and your partner closer together. "Experimenting with each other requires a willingness to be vulnerable, which improves intimacy," says Mort Fertel, a Baltimore marriage counselor and creator of the Marriage Fitness Program.

What types of sex might you and your partner be missing out on? Read on to see if you are ebing fair to your partner and yourself!

Holiday Weekend

If there's a three-day weekend associated with any holiday, you better believe that couples are getting busy between the sheets. Valentine's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July and especially New Year's Eve see a spike in sexual activity and conception in the United States, according to biorhythm researchers. No wonder. Who doesn't want to start the New Year off right?

Make-Up Sex

A passionate argument can lead to some just-as-passionate action between the sheets. Fighting causes dopamine and adrenaline levels to rise, making you and your partner excitable in more ways than one. Every couple faces occasional conflict, and relations after a disagreement can be a great way to get your relationship back on track. "When you're upset with each other, you need to be able to get over it and move on," says Fertel. "Sex changes the momentum after an argument."

Vacation Sex

The two of you may be tucked away in a private room, but the deed can still feel thrillingly public. And those crisp, clean sheets are just begging to be rumpled. Best of all, a vacation can be a great opportunity to re-connect with your partner sexually and otherwise. Intimacy and relations is more than just sex, but it is a good starting point! "One of the benefits of a vacation should be to renew your sexual intimacy," Fertel says. If you usually plan every minute of a trip, make sure you schedule time for sex. For example, plan to stay at the hotel until mid-morning or to come right back to your room after dinner for a relaxing night together.

Animalistic Sex

A sense of urgency can turn up the heat in a major way. Being aggressive can be fun and unexpected -- romance with a twist. After all, it's an element of mystery that defines romance. "It's when you don't quite know what to expect," Fertel says. So if you're in the mood, ripping each other's clothes off and skimping on foreplay could be an exciting change of pace.

Comfort Sex

Like meatloaf and mashed potatoes, sometimes you just need something that's simple, familiar and satisfying. It's one way to provide love and support when you or your partner has had a rough day or is feeling down. This is when it might be time to use your favorite stand-by position, one that you and your partner always enjoy. "When it comes to the climax, sometimes it needs to be in a certain way, and that's OK," says Fertel.

Hope-We-Don't-Get-Caught Sex

If you're at a boring party or family gathering, add a little spice to the evening by sneaking away to the spare bedroom. The possibility of getting caught adds a new level of excitement to your sex life and can even give you a reason to look forward to spending the holidays with the in-laws.

Fulfill-Your-Fantasy Sex

Everyone has sexual fantasies, and as long as both you and your partner feel comfortable acting them out, there's no reason you shouldn't try them. "We should be pursuing each other's fantasies, assuming they're appropriate," says Fertel. For example, if your partner has always dreamed of doing the deed on a boat, why not rent one and spend a romantic night at sea? All aboard!

Quickie Sex

If you're pressed for time, don't write off sex just yet -- this is when "the quickie" comes in handy. Just make sure it's something both parties want; an unfulfilling experience for either one of you can foster resentment and, over time, weaken the relationship. When someone says yes to sex when she really means no, "she's not doing him a favor; she's making a mistake," Fertel says. "It will turn her off to him sexually long-term."

Romantic, Sensual Relations

Taking the time to savor intimacy and relations without rushing through it can be luxurious and fulfilling on many levels. Connecting with your partner by taking it slow means you get to enjoy every moment of being together and lets you take advantage of the emotional connection that makes relations better. Whether it takes candles, music or some bubbly, building the mood can provide a major boost between the sheets.

All-Over-the-House Sex

Switching up your lovemaking location can be a great way to inject some spontaneity into a relationship, which in turn can make your partner feel even more desirable. "Spontaneity is beautiful. It's fun and exciting," says Fertel. "Too often people get into a routine where they have sex at the same time, at the same place." If you and your partner are doing the laundry together, for example, pulling him or her close for a quick rendezvous can be surprising and refreshing. It's good, clean fun -- no detergent required!

Outdoor Sex

You tell your kids to go play outside -- now it's time to practice what you preach! Bringing your sexual escapades outside can be fun and invigorating. If you're camping in a tent or live on a large piece of property, those can be great opportunities to try something new. But to avoid legal problems, it's best to keep your shenanigans private. "The caution is to make sure you're somewhere where you could not be in the public eye," Fertel says. So venture outside to learn more about the birds and the bees.

Position of the Week Sex

Trying out a new position offers the chance to learn more about what brings your partner pleasure. Some positions work better than others for helping a woman orgasm, and experimenting with new ones can give you a better feel for what works -- and what doesn't. Mixing it up keeps sex fresh and prevents it from becoming routine, Fertel says. That makes it more likely you and your partner will keep doing it -- literally.

Marathon Sex

Come rain, snow, sleet or hail, when the weather gets frightful this winter there's no better excuse to spend an entire day in bed. Think of it as Bedroom Olympics. Work together for a common goal, like breaking your record for how many times you can do the horizontal tango in a row. When your sexual energy is finally tapped out, you'll both be exhausted and satisfied.

Bra Essentials and You!

While watching this one episode, dedicated to women on "The Doctors," Cara, from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, expressed that she doesn’t like wearing bras, but is concerned going braless will lead to sagging breasts.

Breasts are held up by ligaments, which attach them to muscles. Over time, the ligaments will weaken and cause sagging. With the correct support, however, women can prevent sagging from occuring earlier.

“You need to wear bras,” Dr. Funk says. “Your breasts don’t have muscles in them; they can’t just defy gravity all by themselves. If you let gravity take its toll long enough, your nipples, instead of pointing ahead, will be looking south.”

Picking out the correct bra is essential. Dr. Funk suggests wearing a brassiere with an underwire to help with support. “I think some women have an issue, thinking underwires cause breast cancer,” she says. “Do they? Do they not? It is a little bit of a debate, but all of the data points to no. So if you’re more comfortable wearing the underwire, go for it.”

While they help your breasts look perkier, push-up bras can actually cause problems when worn too often. “It’s not that they’re unhealthy in terms of cancer-causing or any problems like that,” Dr. Funk says, “except for the sagging issues. Push-up bras sort of, like, let my breasts enter the room first, which is fine and a good thing if you’re trying to be sexy, but every day for the rest of your life you’re going to have to wear the push-up bra, otherwise your nose will be entering the room first. What goes up must come down.”

Workout bras are essential, as well, Dr. Funk explains, because they keep the ligaments from stretching as the breasts bounce. Make sure the elastic material is not worn out, because if it is, the bra is no longer doing its job. “This is most important of all,” Dr. Funk says. “Of all your bras, check your workout bras. You want a workout bra that’s comfortable, and you don’t even need that much lift. You just need [the bra to push the breasts] back.”

Be sure to get properly measured for a bra to get the ideal support for you! 80% of women wear the wrong bra size! It is not hard to measure yourself for a bra! Here is a youtube video to help explain how:

Then there is my 6 month bra challenge! LOL! Buy two identical styles / size bras. Put one away in the back of the drawer and wear the other as you would normally wear. After 6 months, take out the new one and compare it to the older one. Chances are, you will notice a big difference in shape. Once a bra is stretched out and such, they are no longer doing their job! Replace bras every 6 months to keep your "friends" as good as they can be!

Laundry and your intimates: Hook ‘n Dry - and other simple solutions

Alot of women make mistakes when laundering their favorite bras. No one has time to hand wash anymore! There are a lot of solutions to properly launder your intimates and still be able to wear them when your done.

Lets first start with the wash. Ideally, you would want to hand wash..but like I said, who has the time? Then, you could put it in the washing machine...but again, ideally, you would want to wash only intimates in one load. You would not want to mix your jeans with undies. But with everyone trying to save money, you may want to do a few short cuts. Here are some products to help you launder your fine articles and keep them safe.

There are alot of products out there to help keep you bras from ripping, pulling, or it's general shape. There is the Brababy. It was featured on the Today Show and is a great tool. The only draw back is that it is not big enough to hold D cup padded bras or above.

Then there is a mesh lingerie laundry bag. This is a simple and very useful tool. You can put a few bras and undies in it at a time..but not too many, or the items will not clean properly. I recommend two bras at most and maybe 5 thongs (not together)...all depending on the size of the bag. I personally use bags myself, since I am a DD bra size. I have several bags to do my laundry.

Also, be sure to hook all hooks on the bras prior to washing. Also, reshape the bras once you take them out of the wash.

NEVER dry your lingerie in a dryer! The heat will eat away at the elasticity in your undies! So here are a few more toys to help!

This is the Laundry Carousel. You can hang your undies from the clasps and the air passes through, drying each piece equally.

And, now I just found a simple solution called the Hook ‘n Dry. Hook ‘n Dry’s Diane Hassel talks about her product which is proudly made in the USA:

“I always hung my bras to dry in my laundry room using regular hangers and a few hooks I have installed. When my daughter became old enough to purchase expensive bras I had to find a place to hang many more wet bras every laundry day. To solve that problem, I invented the Hook ‘n Dry Hanger!”

“The Hook ‘n Dry Hanger has seven hooks on one hanger allowing you to air dry seven bras in a small space. The hooks are spaced evenly apart to allow maximum air flow between the bras and the hanger can be hung anywhere. It provides women an efficient space saving tool so that they don’t have to hang wet lingerie on towel rods, shower bars, door knobs and other improvised solutions. Many women have found that my hanger solves that universal laundry problem of where to dry your wet bras and lingerie.”

All the pieces, except the hook n dry item can be found at www.naughtyandnicelingerie.com by folowing these links:

Going Commando

When I think about Commando, I usually think about that 1985 flick with Arnold Schwarzenegger blowing everything up....then a few years after 1985, my girlfriend and I were talking and she referred to not wearing any undies as going commando!?! I couldn't believe it that:

1. It was referred to as "going commando" and
2. That she told me this info..."TMI," I thought (before TMI was the saying).

Well, as I was watching "The Doctors" all women's show, this topic obviously had to be discussed. Angel, from Ventura, California asks The Doctors if it is healthy for women to “go commando” and not wear any underwear. “You just kind of go free!” she says.

“I think going commando is great because the vagina has to breathe!” Dr. Lisa says. “It absolutely has to breathe. It’s healthy for it. The problem is that you could pick up other things if you’re in other places that aren’t so healthy. So go commando at home, or go commando where you know all the surfaces, and you know all the people. But if you want to go out in public, you need to wear things on the outside that are going to protect you.”

When going out, Dr. Lisa advises women to wear cotton underwear. For men, going commando is also healthy, but Dr. Travis warns against it if you are playing sports or wearing jeans. “Number one, there’s a support issue,” Dr. Ordon says. “But number two, there could be things getting caught in the zipper.”

OUCH! I am so glad to be a woman in that situation! I just posted a poll to see if you go commando...it's to the left. Please take a moment to vote..it's anonymous!
