Star in a Bra 2009 Winner!
Back in April, I told you about BraStop's "Star in a Bra Competition." Brastop has been searching for DD+, naturally curvy girls to model their Autumn/Winter collection. Up for grabs was a years’ supply of lingerie and a modeling contract. Brastop hoped that those incentives would get their customers to flaunt their best assets.
Customer Service Manager, Monika Paszek explained why the competition is so important: “Brastop specialise in plus size bras and the average Brastop customer is a size 12/14 with a 34G bust. This customer cannot relate to the models used by most lingerie brands, which tend to be either stick thin, too glamorous and often digitally enhanced. The Star in a Bra competition is a great opportunity for us to find naturally curvy models and for our customers to step into the spotlight and show how gorgeous a fuller figure can look. It could even kick-start a whole new modeling career!”
“The response from the competition was overwhelming. Not only from the amazing number of entries we had, but also from our customers who are delighted to see models they can relate to. We can show how a bra will look on a real curvy figure and customers understand which styles will suit their shape. We want to make the lingerie buying experience an enjoyable one. All women should feel happy with the package they have been given.”
Winner Lauren Colfer says of this all: “I hope that I will be a positive image for all the beautiful, curvy ladies out there who like me, struggle to find pretty underwear that both fits and flatters our curves. I am thrilled to have been voted as the winner and want to thank everybody who supported me in the competition; words cannot describe how happy I am! I’m so proud of being a woman with curves and I am really excited for the year ahead when I get to show them off some more!”
Well, Congrats Lauren, and the best of luck to you. I am sure you will do well, as evident by the pictures above!
