It's been sometime since I typed up a blog. This summer has been different than most summers in that I actually took some time off. Taking time off for an entrepreneur can be very tricky, but I think I needed to stop, recharge the batteries and come back refreshed and ready to work....again!
I usually do all the promotions, blogs, listings, website maintenance, etc by myself for Naughtyandnicelingerie.com. You can imagine that this can be very tedious, ongoing and draining. I have been doing this for almost 11 years straight (with maybe a week off here and there). This is the first time I actually took the summer off and paid someone else to handle my Twitter and Facebook promotions. The women that took on this challenge were great and talented in their fields, but they were not me...lol. I appreciate these women and all of their help. Without them, I could not take the time I needed. Don't get me wrong, the computer hasn't been completely shut down the last two months, but I haven't been on nearly a much as I usually am.
So I took the time to enjoy my summer, reconnecting with some friends, having fun with my fiancée, and some wedding planning. I attended to some minor health issues that needed attention, as well as still rehabbing my foot (tore three ligaments). I did some behind the scenes work by getting a new computer and printer for better performance to update my shipping system, already preparing for the holiday rush. I shopped around for new larger cup bras and will be adding them to the inventory soon.
I visited "The Shore" in New Jersey. It was the first time I have been down since Hurricane Sandy. There is still a lot of devastation to be witnessed (which broke my heart) but to see the "new" shore and the continuous rebuilding, humbles me and gives me a whole new respect for those that made it through. It's one thing to hear about it, read about it or see it on TV. It's another to see it up close and personal.
Then I tended to some house projects that have been put off for some time. Other homeowners will sympathize wen I say that there is always something else to do around the house, right? Just last night I took down some of my curtains (12 panels that measure from floor to ceiling), washed them (because I hate the drycleaner smell) and pressed them. That was not easy, and that darn Downy wrinkle reducer did not help! Took the dogs a bath, where I found a lump of one of the dogs, and had to the vet today to have them biopsy it to find out what it is. Crossing my fingers that it isn't really serious.
So, needless to say, I have been very busy in just the last few days. I could go on and on, but I think I took up enough of your time. Sooooo, why don't you tell me, how was your summer?
