Night Time Support for Larger Busts

Having a larger chest can be fun...at times. But when it comes to sleep, it can be a struggle. Plenty of women love the freedom they feel going bra-less while sleeping, but for me it is just plain uncomfortable! I know I’m not the only one, either, as lingerie manufacturers have begun offering more sleepwear with built-in cups and support. Finally, some more options for the larger bust. Here are some suggestions:

Try finding underwire camisoles sold in bra sizes. Pair these with your favorite pajama shorts or lounge pants.

Want a nightgown instead? Now there are options with soft bra support. Some manufacturers are even offering built-in support, often incorporating the shelf bra bands into a keyhole back design. Now they are thinking.

So ladies of the larger bust, they have listened and they are trying to help us all out. You don't have to sacrifice support and comfort to look beautiful!

A Sexy New Video From HOTmilk!

Just because your pregnant, doesn't mean you can't be sexy! HOTmilk has released the first of what they promise to be a series of sexy videos featuring their maternity and nursing lingerie. I still want to be considered sexy all of the time, even if I am pregnant! This is such encouragement! Check it out!

Lingerie Traveling Tips from Naughty and Nice Lingerie

If you travel as often as I do, you can be pretty savvy about making everything you need for a two week trip fit into a piece of luggage and still be under 50 lbs! One thing that many women struggle with is keeping lingerie and swimwear in place and fresh! So here are a few ideas to help you keep that lingerie as sexy and practical as possible, even away from home.

First, you’ll have to pack and store your lingerie somehow. You should separate it from all your other clothes, so delicate lace isn’t torn by zippers and clean silk isn’t ruined by shoes. You can try the Bra(g) which is a great solution for anyone traveling with molded or padded bras. The Bra(g) is shaped like the cups of your bra, so it keeps them in shape and protects them from being squished, creased, wrinkled, or poked. You can protect other lingerie with a lingerie travel bag. It doesn't have to be Fancy-smancy...you can just get a smaller bag, (perhaps a cosmetic bag or two) and carefully fold your lingerie. I tend to actually use small space bags or mesh lingerie laundry bags to keep them together, and still allow me to see what is where. I am very practical about packing, so these do the trick well! But larger cosmetic bags keeps your lingerie protected, in case you want some discretion during airport check points.

Wireless Bras

If you are traveling by plane, you may want to put some thought into the underthings you plan to wear to the airport. Control garments or shapewear may become uncomfortable if your body bloats at high altitudes. The US TSA recommends that you don’t wear a bra with an underwire as it may set off the metal detectors, and also asks that you do not wear gel bras. The TSA also warns against clothing with metal buttons, snaps or studs – so the metal bits on your garter belt or corset may cause a problem. That all being said, I have walked through the metal detectors with an underwire bra plenty of times and have never been stopped because of my bra? But hey...do you want that type of embarrassment in front of all those people? I guess I should be safe than sorry.

While away, you can bring some cleanser with you if you plan to do laundry before you come home. I normally recycle small shampoo bottles and fill them with laundry detergent and fabric softener and then put them in ziplock bags, and then again in a cosmetic bag to keep them from spilling and ruining all my cloths. I also pack my laundry essentials kit found in my store, so that if I do wash my delicates, I am prepared to dry them wherever I am.

If you do not plan on washing your garments, and you plan on using that swimsuit often, be sure to bring a large ziplock bag with you to pack it. You may want to get that last mionute swim in before the flight and may be forced to pack a damp suit.

If you want to cut down on the amount of laundry you will have and have to add a fun twist to your vacation, get edible undies! What a great surprise for your partner!

Meet An Adorable New Etsy Shop: Skip to My Lue!

Skip to My Lue is one of Etsy's newest shops. The "doors" were opened in May 2009 by Denielle Lue. The shop features handmade items for women and babies. Denielle is a married mother of two wonderful kids, a 6 year old daughter and a 9 year old son and recently celebrated her 11th wedding anniversary.

Denielle spent many years trying to find just the right hobby. She's tried beading, scrapbooking, sketching, crocheting and knitting and didn't really stick with any of them for too long. About 3 years ago she took a quilting class with a friend and has been hooked on sewing ever since. She enjoys creating anything that involves sewing. Her most recent projects consist of custom drapes, Buttercup Bags, totes and baby items.

The picture above shows some fabulous reusable snack bags, which would be great for kids, travel and more! You have to check out this store for yourself to see what I mean! I normally right about lingerie on my blog, but every once in a while, I throw a curve ball because of something that I think is special...

For more information visit Skip to My Lue's blogsite at www.skiptomylue.com or support the shop at www.skiptomylue.etsy.com. Additional pictures of her work are also available on Flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/dlue.

Maternity Bra Fitting Guide

I hope you have already check out my earlier post about bra sizing tips in an attempt to help you find your correct bra size. But if you’ve become pregnant (or plan to), you’re entering a whole new world of bra fitting! There are unique challenges to determining your bra size when you are pregnant or nursing, and HOTmilk lingerie have shared some maternity bra sizing information with everyone. Here are their suggestions:

"A well-fitting bra is incredibly important during pregnancy and nursing. During these times in a woman’s life, there are noticeable changes in your breasts - they will become heavier, may be become fuller during pregnancy, and more sensitive during nursing. You need more support during this time, and it’s important that you are fitted by a trained professional. Most traditional lingerie rules don’t apply to maternity or nursing bras and you need a professional bra fitter to help you make an appropriate choice - do NOT just buy your old style in a bigger size! It is recommended that you see a bra fitter 3-4 months into your pregnancy, and again at 7 months (as well as any time you feel that your bra is restrictive or doesn’t fit well).

When choosing a bra, look for one that provides excellent support and flexibility (to allow for fluctuations in breast size). Slide your hand into the upper cup section to guage whether there is enough room for you to expand and/or insert breast pads. The cups should be comfortable and provide good coverage. The cup lining should be cotton, and seams should not irritate your nipples. Be sure that you can undo the maternity clip easily and with one hand. The A-frame should sit comfortably across the top of the breasts. The opening should be large enough to expand, and should not cut in to your skin. Make sure that there is enough overlap between the top of the cup and the A-frame cutout. If there is a gap, this may mean that the cup is too small and the breast is straining the cup. Look for a bra whose cup drops down far enough for feeling. The could should sit lower than the A-frame at the center front so it drops down further.

Just like any bra, your breast tissue should not be bulging over the top of the cup or at the underarms, and the cups should not wrinkle. The back should not ride up or cut in on your back. The straps should rest comfortably on your shoulders. The decision of whether or not to wear underwires when you are pregnant or nursing is a source of some controversy. Many lactation consultants recommend against underwire bras for nursing mothers, as they can restrict the growth of the breast during pregnancy and can put pressure on the breast, leading to blocked milk ducts."

Many thanks to HOTmilk for providing so much wonderful and helpful information! HOTmilk is a great choice when looking for maternity and nursing bras because they are not only comfortable and supportive, but sexy as well! HOTmilk bras are specially designed to provide gorgeous support and coverage all the way up to a G cup.
